Safety & Workplace Policy

SewaMitra 24 is committed to providing a safe, healthy, respectful, and legally compliant workplace for its customers, employees, contract workers, and all stakeholders. We believe that the success of any organization is achieved not only through quality services but also through a strong culture of workplace safety, disciplined conduct, and respect for human values. This Policy shall apply to all Skilled, Semi-Skilled, and Unskilled workers deployed through SewaMitra 24, as well as customers, business partners, and all individuals associated with any work or project facilitated by SewaMitra 24.

1. Purpose of the Policy
The objectives of this Policy are to –

  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Minimize workplace accidents and potential hazards.
  • Clearly define the safety responsibilities of employees and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Indian laws and safety standards.
  • Promote a respectful, discrimination-free, and harassment-free work environment.
  • Ensure effective response and coordination during emergencies.

2. Workplace Safety Principles
Every employee and customer associated with SewaMitra 24 shall adhere to the following principles –

  • Safety shall always be the highest priority before commencing any work.
  • No work shall begin under unsafe conditions.
  • Compliance with prescribed safety procedures and the use of required safety equipment shall be mandatory.
  • Any accident, hazard, or unsafe condition shall be reported immediately to the concerned authority or SewaMitra.
  • Every individual shall be responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of others working alongside them.

3. Responsibilities of the Customer
Every customer engaging workforce through SewaMitra 24 shall –

  • Provide a safe and clean workplace.
  • Inform workers about potential hazards before work begins.
  • Provide helmets, gloves, safety shoes, masks, safety belts, or any other necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), wherever required.
  • Ensure appropriate safety arrangements for work involving electricity, machinery, heights, chemicals, or other hazardous activities.
  • Not assign workers any illegal or excessively hazardous tasks beyond the agreed scope of work.
  • Provide immediate first aid and necessary assistance in the event of an accident or emergency.

4. Responsibilities of Employees
Employees deployed through SewaMitra 24 shall –

  • Follow all safety instructions and workplace guidelines.
  • Properly use the safety equipment provided.
  • Not report to work under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any intoxicating substances.
  • Maintain discipline and cleanliness at the workplace.
  • Immediately report any unsafe equipment, machinery, electrical hazards, or other risks.
  • Refrain from intentionally violating any safety rules.

5. Health and Hygiene
At the workplace –

  • Clean drinking water and essential sanitation facilities should preferably be available.
  • Adequate lighting and ventilation should be ensured.
  • The workplace shall be kept as clean and organized as reasonably practicable.
  • Necessary precautions shall be taken in the event of contagious diseases.
  • Employees shall be encouraged to maintain good personal hygiene.

6. Harassment-Free and Violence-Free Workplace
SewaMitra maintains zero tolerance towards –

  • Physical harassment
  • Mental harassment
  • Verbal abuse
  • Sexual harassment
  • Threats or intimidation
  • Discrimination
  • Violent behavior

Every employee and customer shall treat each other with dignity and respect. Any complaint shall be investigated fairly, impartially, and confidentially.

7. Emergency Situations
In the event of an accident, fire, electrical incident, gas leak, natural disaster, or any other emergency –

  • Protection of human life shall be the highest priority.
  • Local authorities, fire services, police, or medical assistance shall be contacted whenever necessary.
  • SewaMitra 24 shall be informed at the earliest opportunity.
  • The incident shall be properly documented to help prevent similar occurrences in the future.

8. Training and Awareness
SewaMitra 24 shall make reasonable efforts to provide its employees with appropriate guidance and training on workplace safety, professional conduct, ethical behavior, and job-related requirements. Customers are also expected to inform workers about the safety rules applicable at their respective workplaces.

9. Accident Reporting
In the event of any workplace accident, injury, equipment malfunction, or other safety-related incident, the matter should be reported to SewaMitra 24 and the concerned authority without unnecessary delay. The incident shall be reviewed, and appropriate corrective and preventive measures shall be taken.

10. Violation of the Policy
If any employee, customer, or other associated party violates this Policy, SewaMitra 24 may, depending on the circumstances, issue warnings, suspend services, terminate contractual arrangements, or take any other action as permitted under applicable laws.

11. Compliance with Laws
SewaMitra 24 respects and is committed to complying with all applicable labour, occupational safety, health, and workplace laws, regulations, and statutory requirements issued by the Government of India and the respective State Governments from time to time.

12. Amendments to the Policy
SewaMitra 24 reserves the right to amend, modify, or update this Safety & Workplace Policy at any time. Any revised Policy shall become effective upon its publication on the official website.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Policy shall be governed by the applicable laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts having jurisdiction over the location of the registered office of SewaMitra 24.
